Joe Robertson MP has met with rail managers at Ryde St John’s Station to oversee improvements made to Island Line. In recent years, work including track improvements, new trains and infrastructure upgrades has increased the Island’s accessibility through boosting the quality and quantity of running trains.
Mr Robertson learnt how these improvements to the Island Line will directly benefit small businesses across the Island, with one example being the continued regeneration of the Ryde Esplanade, with the opening of a new coffee shop, PO41, later this week (28/07/25).
Joe Robertson MP said, ‘It was good to meet with rail managers at Ryde St John’s Station. Work on the rail track is ongoing, which should preserve the line and enhance the journey experience for all passengers.’
Track works are expected to continue through the coming years, helping to improve reliability and preserve the vital rail link for Island residents and visitors alike.
