The vital role of practice managers in delivering frontline healthcare was highlighted as Joe Robertson MP addressed The Institute of General Practice Management Conference in Southampton.
Speaking to sector leaders, he emphasised that practice managers are central to the effective running of GP surgeries, overseeing business operations, staffing, administration and regulatory requirements. He warned that efforts to improve GP access, reduce hospital admissions and deliver neighbourhood health centres will fall short without properly engaging those managing services on the ground.
Joe Robertson MP said, "Pleased to have spoken at The Institute of General Practice Management Conference in Southampton. Practice managers lead the business, staffing, administrative and regulatory function of GP surgeries. A vital part, but often over looked voice, in health care. The Government won't deliver on its promise to improve access to GPs, reduce hospital admissions and deliver on its neighbourhood health centres without listening to, and working with, practice managers who know how it works on the ground. That's why I invited IGPM practice managers to Parliament to meet MPs earlier this year."
