A poppy cross has been planted in Parliament’s Garden of Remembrance on behalf of Isle of Wight East residents.
Joe Robertson placed the cross, as a tribute to those who lost their lives in service to the nation.
The garden in New Palace Yard, outside Westminster Hall, was launched in 2021 by the Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle in partnership with the Royal British Legion.
It gives all 650 MPs from across the UK the opportunity to participate collectively in an Act of Remembrance at the home of Parliamentary democracy.
Speaking after the ceremony, Joe Robertson MP said: “It was a privilege to take part in the Garden of Remembrance and to pay tribute to the men and women from East Wight who have given so much in service to our country. We owe them, and all those who continue to serve, a deep debt of gratitude.”
