As part of his ongoing effort to improve dental care in East Wight, Joe Robertson MP attended the opening of the new Damira Dental Practice in Ryde.
The team at Damira Dental has transformed the old Barclays building on the High Street into a modern practice with eight treatment rooms over three floors, providing thousands more NHS appointments. It was good to meet staff from Damira and the Integrated Care Board (who are responsible for commissioning dental services) and see the renovated space.
Mr Robertson said, "Great to see the new Damira Dental practice opening in Ryde. Access to a dentist is vital, and the national 'contract' dating from 2006 needs reform. It is the very first issue I raised in Parliament when I first got elected. I am encouraged to see this level of investment in local dental provision and grateful to everyone involved in getting the new site ready."
