Joe Robertson MP, was joined by Shadow Chancellor Mel Stride MP in Sandown for a series of meetings with local residents, business owners, and councillors, focusing on support for the town's high street and small businesses.

The visit highlighted both the local challenges specific to Sandown and broader economic pressures facing small businesses across the country. Discussions centred on ways to revitalise the local economy and support business recovery in the wake of rising operational costs.

“It was great to be in Sandown with Mel Stride to hear directly from the community,” said Mr Robertson. “While there are unique local challenges here, it’s clear that action is needed at every level. The Government must reduce the tax burden on small businesses, and the Council should freeze parking charges to support high street recovery and help local businesses thrive.”
