An engaging discussion with students at Lift Ryde saw Joe Robertson MP encouraging young people to take an interest in government and current affairs.
Speaking with students, he reflected on his own early interest in politics while still at school and highlighted the importance of understanding how democracy works in practice. The conversation also touched on the role of election counts, an often overlooked but essential part of the democratic process, with the Isle of Wight’s local count offering a more accessible daytime example.
Joe Robertson MP said, "It is always good to chat with Lift Ryde students, and encourage their interest in government and current affairs. I look forward to visiting again soon."
