Joe Robertson MP is encouraging Islanders to take part in the Casey Commission's call for evidence on the future of adult social care, highlighting the particular challenges facing the Isle of Wight.
During a visit to Age UK Isle of Wight, Joe met with the charity to discuss the pressures facing social care on the Island, including delayed hospital discharges and the support needed to help people return home safely after a stay in hospital.
Joe Robertson MP said:
"The Isle of Wight faces particular challenges in social care. We know that if we don't tackle the pressures in social care, we won't solve the pressures facing St Mary's Hospital either.
The Casey Commission is an opportunity for Islanders to feed into a major national review and help shape future decisions on social care. I would encourage anyone with experience of the system to take part in the call for evidence and make sure the Island's voice is heard."
The Casey Commission is currently inviting evidence from individuals, organisations and professionals as part of its review into the future of adult social care. You can take part here until Tuesday 14th September.
